An example of a tombstone at a pet cemetery

A cemetery was a plot of land where bodies of the deceased were traditionally buried. It was mostly associated with Earth culture, but other species had similar burial practices.

In 2152, Captain Jonathan Archer of the starship Enterprise experienced a dream in which he was burying his dog Porthos in a cemetery exclusive for pets. (ENT: "A Night in Sickbay")

In 2370, Chief Medical Officer Beverly Crusher of the USS Enterprise-D buried her grandmother at a cemetery on Caldos. (TNG: "Sub Rosa")
