Lieutenant Paul Porter was an engineer aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-E in 2373.

Following the massive Borg attack on Earth, the Enterprise traveled back to the year 2063, where Porter was left in charge of engineering by Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge. Investigating a mysterious series of environmental difficulties, Porter ran a check on the EPS network in an adjacent Jefferies tube, where he was assimilated by a member of a Borg boarding party.

Following his integration into the Collective, Porter remained in engineering and performed several tasks including protecting the Borg Queen and aiding in the attempted assimilation of both Lieutenant Commander Data and Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Following the death of the Queen, Porter himself died along with his fellow drones. (Star Trek: First Contact)

Porter was played by actor Eric Steinberg. While he was apparently the first Enterprise-E crewmember to be assimilated, his transformation seemed relatively slow compared to others like Ensign Lynch.
