Regenerative shield was a type of deflector shield used by the Federation Starfleet and the Numiri.
The patrol ships of the Numiri were protected by regenerative shields. (VOY: "Ex Post Facto") The battle systems of Starfleet's Prometheus-class starships included regenerative shielding, ablative armor, and the multi-vector assault mode. (VOY: "Message in a Bottle")
According to Neelix, regenerative shields would give a ship certain advantage in a firefight with a ship like the USS Voyager. (VOY: "Ex Post Facto")

According to the Voyager novel Seven of Nine, the Borg had assimilated regenerative shield technology from an insectoid race known as the Tuktak, who used it to protect their ships. However, it proved impractical for Borg vessels, especially the very massive Borg cubes, so the Collective modified the technology for drones' personal protection instead.
