[edit] History

Its commander, Gul Dukat, had the role of prefect and commander of the planet's occupational forces. Aside from providing a permanent garrison post, Terok Nor was a processing facility for raw uridium ore from the strip mining of the planet below. Using Bajoran slaves who labored in temperatures as high as 55 degrees Celsius, the station was able to process up to 20,000 tonnes of ore a day. (DS9: "Civil Defense", "Things Past")

In one of his recorded messages for the counter insurgency program, Dukat described Terok Nor during the Occupation as being "a paradise" compared to Bajor. (DS9: "Civil Defense")

The Cardassians left Bajor and Terok Nor in 2369. Before they left the station, they damaged it as much as possible, killing several people. Starfleet arrived around two weeks later. (DS9: "Emissary")

Terok Nor under Dominion control

When the station was retaken by the Cardassian/Dominion alliance in 2373, it reverted back to its Cardassian designation, and was once again commanded by Dukat. (DS9: "Call to Arms")

The station soon came to be the site from which Dukat, Weyoun and other Dominion personnel directed the Dominion War. The Station Ruling Council was later formed. (DS9: "A Time to Stand")

Spurred on by the suicide of Vedek Yassim, Kira Nerys formed a resistance group that included herself, Jake Sisko, Rom and Leeta. They were also assisted by Quark and Tora Ziyal. (DS9: "Rocks and Shoals", "Behind the Lines")

When Benjamin Sisko launched Operation Return from Starbase 375 Dukat commanded the Dominion and Cardassian fleet from the station. At the same time, Kira and Rom attempted to sabotage the antigraviton emitter. Although they failed, Sisko took the USS Defiant into the wormhole in a desperate last stand against the overwhelming Dominion reinforcements. Sisko was contacted by the Prophets, who agreed to stop the Dominion forces. With the reinforcements gone and Federation and Klingon forces on their way, the Dominion abandoned the station. (DS9: "Favor the Bold", "Sacrifice of Angels")
