Vincent McEveety is part of a family of directors and producers; his brother and a nephew were also directors, and he has a son who is a producer, director, and actor. McEveety mostly worked in television, with a long list of television series and made for television moves spanning nearly fourty years (from 1962 to 2000). He started out as an assistant director in a few feature films and television shows, beginning in 1957. Later he directed a few features himself. Among the many series he worked on are The Lieutenant (starring Gary Lockwood, created by Gene Roddenberry), Petrocelli (starring Susan Howard), T.J. Hooker (starring William Shatner, James Darren and Richard Herd), Diagnosis Murder and Murder, She Wrote (starring William Windom).
