- 2024: Outcry over deaths and circumstances leading to the Bell Riots forces the United States to focus on social problems. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part I", "Past Tense, Part II")
- 2053: World War III ends with a nuclear holocaust resulting in the deaths of some six hundred million Humans. The planet begins its long journey towards recovery. (Star Trek: First Contact)
- 2063: Zefram Cochrane builds Warp drive on earth, and tries it in his experimental ship, the Phoenix. After his flight, first contact occurs between Humans and Vulcans. (Star Trek: First Contact)
- The title of Klingon emperor is dissolved. (TNG: "Rightful Heir")
- The species known as the humpback whale becomes temporarily extinct at some point during this century on Earth. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
