Alfred Tennyson was a British poet in the 19th century. Among his many notable works are the poems "Locksley Hall" and "The Charge of the Light Brigade."
A line from "Locksley Hall" – "For I dipt in to the future, far as human eye could see; Saw the vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be" – appeared on the dedication plaque of the USS Voyager in the 2370s. (Star Trek: Voyager)
