Alpha Majoris is a star which is in or near Federation space, the primary of the Alpha Majoris system. (TOS: "Wolf in the Fold")
Alpha Majoris was mentioned as a small note on a very large star chart graphic created for TNG: "Conspiracy". It was the image behind the chair in the room where Dexter Remmick was killed. It is possible that "Alpha Majoris" is short for "Alpha Canis Majoris" or "Alpha Ursae Majoris".
