An analgesic is a drug used to relieve pain, such as may occur from mild bruising, up to more severe injury. (VOY: "Critical Care", "Tsunkatse") Analgesics are often used to treat headaches. (ENT: "Observer Effect")
When ordered to create a diversion to slow down a Borg invasion of the USS Enterprise-E, the EMH in the Enterprise's sickbay offered the intruding Borg drones an analgesic skin cream. (Star Trek: First Contact)
