Angel system

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

The Angel system was a non-aligned inhabited star system.

Due to its closeness to the Romulan Neutral Zone, this system had important strategic value to the Federation and it was hoped that eventually the system would align itself with this galactic alliance.

In 2302, a Federation ship visited this system and contacted the civilization on Angel I.

Fifty-five years later, the freighter Odin was lost in the system's asteroid belt when an asteroid collided with the ship.

Seven years later, the USS Enterprise-D, receiving the Odin's distress call, traced the survivors to Angel I. (TNG: "Angel One")
