Arson is a crime related to igniting an object on fire in an attempt to cause damage.

In 1986, when the HMS Bounty went back in time to 1986, Admiral James T. Kirk looked at an issue of the San Francisco Register. One of the articles stated that a blaze had been burning for two days with arson suspected. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
