Aubergine stew

Aubergine stew (or Batinjan) is an Arabic dish from Earth that includes aubergine (a type of eggplant) and the meat of young sheep. The dish was one of Benjamin Sisko's specialities, and was well known among those close to him.

When Sisko first met his future wife Jennifer, he offered to make his famous aubergine stew for her. She was ambivalent, having just met him, but he persisted and she agreed. (DS9: "Emissary")

Sisko also made this stew for dinner for himself and his son in 2369 but Jake did not came up. When Jadzia Dax came along she seemed happy about this meal and ate it when Sisko left to search for Jake. (DS9: "The Nagus")
