B'Zal was a Ferengi signal code using alternating patterns of light and darkness to transmit simple text messages. In 2370 Bok exploded a probe near the USS Enterprise-D, which created a series of light patterns that translated as "My revenge is at hand". (TNG: "Bloodlines")
