Bangkok is a city on Earth, capital of the nation-state Thailand on the Asian continent.
In 1930, a news report concerning "Bangkok, Thailand" was printed in a New York newspaper said that the 'United States of America Minister' advised American citizens that did not have "urgent reason" to be in Thailand to return home for security reasons. The report was on the same page as a murder, and the death of a 'local social worker' Edith Keeler.
