Batai

Batai was a native of the planet of Kataan. He was an elder of the council of the Ressik community and best friend of Kamin who, after his friend's death, would name his only son in Batai's honor.

In 2368, Jean-Luc Picard experienced the friendship between Batai and Kamin when he encountered a space probe left by the Kataans so that their race would not be forgotten. (TNG: "The Inner Light")

Batai was played by actor Richard Riehle.
