Benbasset was a male Doctor and Counselor stationed on Starbase 235.

Nog was treated by Benbasset after he lost a leg on AR-558 in 2375. Benbasset later talked to Ezri Dax on Deep Space 9 and assured her Nog's biosynthetic leg was functioning normally and the use of a cane was unnecessary. (DS9: "It's Only a Paper Moon")
