Captain Bennet served as Admiral William Ross' adjutant during the early days of the Dominion War. Ross described her as one of the best adjutants he ever had, stating that she had "a strong grasp of strategy, with an ability to see the big picture". At Ross' recommendation, Starfleet put her in charge of Seventh Tactical Wing in 2374. Her position would later be filled by Benjamin Sisko. (DS9: "Behind the Lines")
