Beta Canopus is a planet which is a natural source of strobolin, a pharmaceutical used to treat choriocytosis in Vulcans.

The starship Potemkin visited Beta Canopus in 2270 to obtain strobolin that was to be shipped to the Enterprise by way of the freighter Huron. (TAS: "The Pirates of Orion")
