Beta Ursae Minor was a star system ca. 126 light years from Sol and the location of the planet Beta Ursae Minor II. This system was Federation territory in the 24th century, and home to a Starfleet training installation. (TNG: "Eye of the Beholder")

The second brightest star located in the constellation Ursa Minor (the first brightest is Polaris), this system's primary has been called "Kochab" by astronomers on Earth. The system was described on Darien Wallace's personnel file as "Beta Ursae Minor", although the more correct notation would be "Beta Ursae Minoris".
