Bilak par is the Vulcan term for self-pity, an emotional response.

When he was young and unable to deal with the emotional turmoil of his unrequited shon-ha'lock towards Jara, Tuvok declared that he was sorry to be born Vulcan. A Vulcan master characterized this as bilak par. (VOY: "Gravity")
