Bill Gocke worked as sound boom operator on some early episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He later went on to be sound mixer on the same show and continued that work for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Several characters were named in his honor, Bill Gocke of Starfleet, for example, who appeared on several dedication plaques, and Gocke, one of Ibudan's associates. Gocke's House of Mirrors is also named after him.
Additionally, Bill Gocke is the person seen as a reflection on a small glass pyramid in TNG: "Unification II".
