Blitmanite is chemical compound normally carried on board Galaxy-class Federation starships.

In 2367, blitmanite was one of the long list of explosive compounds that Lieutenant Commander Data and Deanna Troi searched through in an attempt to escape from the Tyken's Rift. (TNG: "Night Terrors")

The okudagram of this compound states: "Magnisium based fuel used in remote spectroscopy vaporization devices. Provided in 0.2 kg charges for use in long-range impact probes."
