The Bonaventure-type starship was in service at least several decades prior to the 2260s.
A vessel of this class, the Bonaventure was described as being the first ship to have warp drive installed. She was lost on her third mission, in the Delta Triangle. (TAS: "The Time Trap")

Star Trek: Star Charts gives the year the Bonaventure was lost in the Delta Triangle as 2079. This date would be consistent with the fact that a human appeared to be a member of the Elysian Council where everyone was stated to be several centuries old.
