The Celtris system is located within Cardassian space.

In 2369, Starfleet Intelligence began monitoring bursts of theta-band subspace radiation from one of the planets in the system, Celtris III. This indicated the presence of a metagenic device somewhere on the planet. The signal was a fake, designed to lure Captain Jean-Luc Picard into the system.
