Charlie Parker was an African-American jazz musician, popular during the 1940s and 1950s.
While Benjamin/Benny was in 1950s Harlem, he enjoyed listening to Parker's music. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")
The scene in which Parker's music can be heard is the one in Benny's apartment, where Benny begins to write his story about Deep Space 9 and sees the image of Benjamin reflected in the glass of his window.
