Chris Claremont

Christopher S. Claremont (born 30 November 1950; age 58) is a comic book author. He is best known for his extended run from 1975 to 1991 on the Uncanny X-Men comic for Marvel Comics, making it one of the industry's most successful properties.
He started in the industry in 1974, writing Iron Fist, a title that teamed him with John Byrne. By 1975, Len Wein had given him writing duties on the Uncanny X-Men, a title that would change his life. During his sixteen year run on the title, he was responsible for a number of classic stories and the creation of a number of important characters, including Sabretooth, Mystique, Mister Sinister, and Rogue. In that period, he also worked with Frank Miller on the first Wolverine mini-series.
In addition to his vast body of comics work, Claremont has also written a number of novels, including the Shadow War trilogy with George Lucas, acting as a sequel to the events of the movie Willow, and a science fiction trilogy about the adventures of a female starship pilot named Nicole Shea.
He also had a brief cameo at the start of the 2006 movie X-Men: The Last Stand which featured Star Trek actors Kelsey Grammer, Famke Janssen, and John Pyper-Ferguson.
He contributed a one page essay entitled "Moments to Remember" to the anniversary comic published in DC's second TOS series, "Target: Mudd!", the short story "Cry Vengeance" to 1994's "TNG Special 2", but his primary Star Trek contribution is the authoring of the "Debt of Honor" graphic novel in late 1992.
