Cinderella
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference
Cinderella was the story of a young girl who is forced to work for her two, evil stepsisters. She wants to attend a Prince's ball but is unable to, so a fairy godmother appears to her and changes her rags into a beautiful dress, mice into horses and a pumpkin into a carriage. She can go to the ball, but everything will change back on the stroke of midnight. Cinderella meets the Prince and the two fall in love, but the clock strikes midnight and she runs away. In her rush, though, she leaves behind a glass slipper. The Prince vows that he will find her. He bids every woman in the land to try on the glass slipper but no one can fit into it; eventually he comes to Cinderella's house and much to her stepsisters' shock and dismay, the shoe fits.
Pavel Chekov believed the story to be of Russian origin. In 2293, he made an reference to this story to Crewman Dax upon informing him that the magnetic boots used to board the IKS Kronos One were discovered in his locker, not realizing Dax's feet were not able to fit into standard boots.
