Lieutenant Cleary was a engineering technician aboard the USS Enterprise serving under Captain Decker and Commander Scott during the ships refit. Cleary would later serve under Captain Kirk as he commanded the Enterprise to intercept the V'Ger probe in 2272. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
