A code sequencer was a piece of technology used as a form of lock for cargo containers.

In 2373, Quark claimed that he needed to retrieve a descrambler because the code sequencer on a container of Varaxian LM-7 was not working properly, making him unable to open the container. (DS9: "Business as Usual")
