The Commission on Political Traitors was an organization that existed on the planet Cheron at least 50,000 years ago.

Its Chief Officer, Bele, left Cheron at that time to begin his pursuit of Lokai, whose crimes evidently fell within the Commission's purview. Authority for his pursuit derived from the Commission and its work. (TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield")
