Concussive charges are a form of weapon employed by the Klingons in the 23rd century, and by Starfleet in the 24th century.
In 2293, Kang's battle cruiser fired concussive charges at the USS Excelsior while both ships were traveling through the Azure Nebula. (VOY: "Flashback")
In 2368, Commander William T. Riker suggested using a concussive charge to blow out the force field around Ten Forward that was erected by Ux-Mal criminals. (TNG: "Power Play")
