Captain David Carson was a member of Starfleet in the 24th century.

Carson was listed as Fleet Yards Operations personnel on the dedication plaque of the starship USS Sutherland in 2363. (TNG: "Redemption II")

Captain Carson, who was listed on various pieces of background artwork, was named for production staff member David Carson.
