David Messina (born 29 August 1974; age 37) is an Italian comic book artist from Rome. He worked in animation after finishing his art studies, moved on to graphic design, and then managed to break into the comics industry. He has been teaching art at the Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Rome since 2002 and also currently works for IDW Publishing on their various titles, including books in the Angel series, such as "Auld Lang Syne", "Masks", "Old Friends", and "The Curse". Messina has provided extensive artwork for many of IDW's Star Trek releases, ranging from full pencil and ink work to cover art, and including Klingons: Blood Will Tell, Star Trek: Countdown, and at least the first issue of the ongoing Star Trek series.
