David Oliver (31 January 1962 – 12 November 1992; age 30) is an actor who portrayed an unnamed holodeck character credited as Young Man in TNG: "Cost of Living". Oliver was born in Concord, California.
Oliver appeared on a number of small television shows in his short career, including a walk-on role in a 1990 episode of Murder, She Wrote. He played the role of Sam Gardner in the '80s show A Year in the Life. He died in 1992 in Los Angeles of AIDS, only seven months after "Cost of Living" first aired.
