Gaharey was a term in the Devore language. It was used by the Devore Imperium to describe people or vessels that were not part of their Imperium.

The translation was given as "stranger". The Devore soldiers frequently addressed Captain Kathryn Janeway on the bridge of the USS Voyager using the phrase "gaharey vessel." (VOY: "Counterpoint")
