Digital Vortechs

Digital Vortechs is a Hollywood rental company which provides Avid digital editing equipment to film and television productions, which they are doing on 2008's Star Trek. Using this equipment, they will build the system that will be used to edit the film.
Digital Vortechs counts Star Trek editor Maryann Brandon among its clients, hence why they have been assigned to Trek. They previously worked with Brandon on the popular television series Alias, which was created by Star Trek' director and producer, J.J. Abrams, and on the 2007 film The Jane Austen Book Club.
The company has also supplied editing equipment for such films as Miss Congeniality (starring William Shatner), Showtime (also featuring Shatner), Vertical Limit (featuring Alexander Siddig), Disney's The Kid (featuring Jeri Ryan), The Fast and the Furious, Two Weeks Notice, Death to Smoochy, Dreamcatcher, The Matrix Reloaded, A Mighty Wind (starring Ed Begley, Jr., Paul Dooley, Michael McKean, Gigli (with cinematography by Robert Elswit), and Starsky & Hutch (starring Fred Williamson). Television productions they have worked on include the 1999 version of Annie, 2003's Helen of Troy (starring John Rhys-Davies), and UPN's The Others (starring John Billingsley and Bill Cobbs).
Their equipment is currently being used on the hit ABC series Brothers & Sisters. Some of their recent films include Charlie Bartlett (starring Anton Yelchin), Paramount's NowhereLand (starring Eddie Murphy, Ronny Cox and Vanessa Williams) and The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins.
