Ethiopia was a nation state that existed in eastern Africa, on the planet Earth. The country bordered with the Sudan and had ancient ties as well with Egypt. A map of the world, showing Ethiopia, was present in the library computer of the USS Enterprise in 2254. (TOS: "The Cage")
Ethiopia has never been directly mentioned in dialogue, but can be seen on a world map in the remastered version of the "The Cage".
