The ethmoid fossa is a bone in the Human skeletal system, located in the skull in relation to the nose.
After Joseph Carey was attacked by B'Elanna Torres in 2371, his nose was broken in three places. This resulted in the Doctor resetting his ethmoid fossa. (VOY: "Parallax")
