Ficus sector

The Ficus sector is a relatively unexplored region of space located near or within the Federation, and is location of the Bringloid system.

During the 22nd century, two Earth colonies were established in the Bringloid system of the Ficus sector: a colony on Bringloid V and the Mariposa colony. The two colonies would be reunited in 2365. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")

Ficus was also the name of a character in the 1978 television show "Quark". This campy comedy science fiction show featured parodies of many science fiction shows and Ficus was a parody of Spock.

Since the Ficus Sector is referenced with several in-jokes it is possible that the name of the sector is also a reference to the "Quark" series.

According to the okudagram seen in the episode, the Ficus Sector may be either sector 184 or 185.
