A field stabilizer was a stabilizing component of a starship controlled by the ship's engine room.

In 2154, Crewman Biggs and Crewman Pierce were assigned to recalibrate the field stabilizers in order to assist getting the Columbia's field matrix down to 0.3 microns. (ENT: "Affliction")

In 2373, after a cascade virus disabled the USS Defiant's computer systems, the ship's field stabilizers were one of many systems that were still offline when the ship was dispatched to locate Michael Eddington. (DS9: "For the Uniform")
