Fisher (Crewman)

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Crewman Fisher was a crewmember aboard Enterprise in 2152.

He came down with Rigelian fever after a visit to Tessik Prime. Phlox had to inoculate the entire crew to prevent an outbreak.

Ironically, his illness would soon indirectly save the life of a fellow crew member. After the automated repair station visited by Enterprise kidknapped Travis Mayweather in order to use his synaptic pathways to enhance its capabilities, it recreated an almost perfect replica of Mayweather, apparently killed by an isolytic shock while doing unauthorized work in the launch bay. During the autopsy, however, Phlox discovered that his blood was completely devoid of the genetically-altered microbes from the vaccine which should still be in the bloodstream (the organisms feed on isolytic energy, so, if anything, after the "fatal" injuries they would increased in number) and deduced that they body in his sickbay was not the ensign. Armed with this knowledge, Archer and T'Pol were able to sneak in to the computer core and rescue him before it was too late. (ENT: "Dead Stop")
