Flank speed

Flank speed is a term with nautical origins that is used to describe the absolute maximum speed of a vessel. This tactic is commonly used in attack manuevers, it also has a function in strategic escapes. (TOS: "The Enterprise Incident"; TAS: "Beyond the Farthest Star")
