From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Some of our battle articles have a great deal of information in them. While this is of course advantageous, it is often difficult to get the quick facts about a particular engagement. I am proposing a template infobox (similar to those on Wikipedia) that can display quick facts, such as date, location, combatants, commanders, and losses for each side. -- Jaz ^talk 02:06, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Didn't we have a discussion about this in the past, and found out that there isn't really much templatable information for "our" battles? This starts with the fact that most of our "Battle of X" articles aren't really battles in a war between different powers, but mostly skirmishes between individual ships. Also, most of the time, a detailed outcome of a battle is unknown. -- Cid Highwind 10:56, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
