The Four Deities are religious icons of which Lwaxana Troi had a basic familiarity.
After the arrival of Deanna Troi to Lwaxana's quarters, which managed to interrupt Data's particularly boring set of anecdotes, during a dinner party, the elder Troi, at the delight of seeing her daughter, exclaimed: "Deanna, darling, thank the Four Deities you're here!" (TNG: "Manhunt")
