Fullerene

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

A fullerene filled with water

A fullerene is a molecule in the configuration of a hollow, multi-faceted sphere.

In 2370, Alexander Rozhenko and Eric Burton made fullerenes in their chemistry class and filled them with water, essentially making water balloons. Eric accidentally hit Lt. Worf with one of the fullerenes while playing with Alexander. (TNG: "Firstborn")

Fullerenes are defined as being composed entirely of carbon atoms and are impossible to see with the naked eye. It is possible that the fullerenes Alexander and Eric made in class were simply models of fullerenes, or that in the 24th century fullerenes can be made with atoms other than carbon.
