Gagarin IV was a Class M planet of the Gagarin system and the home for the Darwin Genetic Research Station, a Federation outpost. (TNG: "Unnatural Selection")
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, the planet was named after Yuri Gagarin, the first Human in space.
