Gamma Tauri

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

(Redirected from Gamma Tauri system)

The Gamma Tauri system was an uninhabited star system in Federation space. By the mid-24th century, the Federation had established an unmanned monitoring outpost on Gamma Tauri IV. DaiMon Tarr of the Ferengi claimed the system was in Ferengi territory, a claim dismissed by Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise-D.

In 2364, images of a D'Kora-class raider were captured on the outpost's automatic scanners as the T-9 energy converter was heisted by crew members of the starship. Alerted by the theft, the starship Enterprise-D was tasked with pursuing the raider by Starfleet. (TNG: "The Last Outpost")

Gamma Tauri is a real star, spectral class K0-III, in the Taurus constellation. The star is approximately 154 light years away from Earth.
