Gazelle

The gazelle is a quadrupedal animal native to Earth. They usually inhabit the savannas of Africa, and are herbivores.
When a gazelle is born, it is capable of standing on its own within minutes, and within a few more minutes is capable of walking on its own.
While trying to explain that Humans may stumble on their first attempt at space exploration, Captain Jonathan Archer gave a "colorful analogy" to Ambassador Soval comparing that humans were not like gazelles, and did not always get something right immediately. He mentioned that he had seen a gazelle give birth while on a trip to East Africa in the 2130s. (ENT: "Shockwave, Part II")
