Germany is an ancient nation-state in the European Alliance on Earth's European continent. A major player in the planet's history, Germany was home to numerous influential Humans.

- Berlin - former capital of Germany. In 2155, a Vulcan consulate is set there. (DS9: "Change of Heart"; ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II", "Terra Prime") Several colonies or ships were named after the city: the New Berlin colony, the city New Berlin on Luna, the USS Berlin (NCC-14232)

One of the most famous Germans of the 20th century was the physicist Albert Einstein who formulated the Theory of General Relativity. (TNG: "Descent") The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who was born in the 19th century is also a well known German, as is the 19th century composer Johannes Brahms and the 15th century inventor of printing technology on Earth, Johann Gutenberg. During the 20th century, as one of the Axis Powers, Germany saw its darkest period under the lead of Adolf Hitler being one of the combatants in the Second World War.

In the 2260s Lieutenant Karl Jaeger, who had German ancestors, served as meteorologist and planetologist aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise. (TOS: "The Squire of Gothos")
The state flag of Germany contains the colors black, red and gold. Lieutenant Commander Data of the USS Enterprise-D referred to the flag as an example in 2364. (TNG: "The Last Outpost")
