Gol is a city on the planet Vulcan.

The Stone of Gol likely takes its name from this city. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I", "Gambit, Part II")

In a Vulcan telling, Gol is destroyed by an invading army after a citizen called Nirak fails to warn the city, since he mistakes their approach for a sandstorm. Henceforth "Nirak" was the Vulcan word for "fool". (ENT: "Kir'Shara")

Possibly Gol was invaded during the Time of Awakening.
